Heroes Welcome Home (“HWH”) invites all licensed Realtors working with a U.S. Veteran to review our program requirements to see if they might be eligible for our Home Ownership Assistance Property. This program assists eligible Veterans with paying for out-of-pocket expenses, closing costs and down payments when purchasing a home. Please review the eligibility requirements below.
HWH eligibility criteria:

Fund availability. We are totally dependent on community donations, grants and funds raised through special events;

Purchasing a home in our service area: DeSoto, Hardee, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas and Sarasota counties;

VA eligibility status with DD214 or Military ID available and provided to HWH;

Honorably discharged from the U.S. Military or Active Duty status;

Purchasing a home valued at $500,000 or below which will be their sole and primary residence;

Willing to provide information on our application and cooperate with the HWH award process.
Financial awards are considered a “grant,” as a way of showing our appreciation for their service to our country with NO REPAYMENT necessary.
If approved, the funds will be delivered to the Closing agent as a credit toward out of pocket expenses or down payment. In the event the mortgage company does not participate in such awards, arrangements will be made to reimburse the awardee after closing, although it is preferred to maintain the award as part of the closing process.
